Northern BC Film

Snow

title

Northern British Columbia is home to longest winters in British Columbia, with massive snowfalls created by multiple mountain ranges. At higher elevations, snow stays year round, allowing a long shooting season for winter-based films. Access to snowy subalpine bowls, white forests, and frozen lakes is unparalleled. Frosty towns, woodsy cabins and small ski resorts are all accessible. Dramatic roadways, like Bear Pass (Highway 37A) provide stunning backdrops.

The Prairie on Hudson Bay Mountain, this high sub-alpine bowl is above the timberline, and can be accessed directly by snow cat. The Prairie is adjacent to Hudson Bay Mountain (alpine) Resort, and just a couple of miles from the town of Smithers.
